Harassment

a) The council has a commitment to eliminating unlawful or unfair discrimination and to achieve an environment free from harassment. This extends to the conduct of all allotment garden tenants. Any inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated.

b) Harassment may be of a specifically racial, sexual or religious nature, but is generally accepted to be any unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct. Harassment may be deemed to have occurred whether it is a single or repeated incident. All tenants must conduct themselves appropriately at all times and treat all other tenants, representatives of the council accordingly.

c) The Equality Act 2010 shall be complied with at all times.

d) All alleged incidents of harassment must be reported to the council for investigation. 

e) All alleged incidents of harassment should be supported with a signed and dated statement along with any supporting evidence. If there are any known witnesses to an alleged incident their details should be provided to the council.
