Summary of Key Requirements
MUST DO
- Must notify the city council Allotment Service about any address or contact details change.
- Must ensure that the Allotment Garden plot number is visible at all times.
- Must ensure that any person or persons under the age of 16 are supervised at all times.
- Must ensure dogs are kept on a lead at all times when on Site (Permitted to be off lead on Allotment Gardens if the garden is secure).
- Must ensure the gates to the Site remain closed and locked at all times.
- Must report any instances of damage and or anti-social behaviour to the city council Allotment Service.
- Must ensure that the Allotment Garden is at least 75% cultivated with Flowers, Vegetables or Fruit.
- Must maintain any boundary that is surrounding the Allotment Garden including any hedges, fences or trees etc.
- Must give at least 3 months notice to the city council Allotment Service prior to ending their tenancy.
- Must permit Allotment Officers entry to your allotment garden upon request.
MUST NOT
- Must not consume or sell illegal substances on the site.
- Must not cause any nuisance or annoyance to any Tenant or neighbouring resident.
- Must not use the site for any immoral or illegal purpose.
- Must not bring or use any weapons on site e.g. (Air rifles, etc).
- Must not allow any part of the Allotment Garden to become overgrown at any time.
- Must not use any hazardous materials on site e.g. (Barbed or Razor wire, Asbestos, etc)
- Must not kill, burn or burry any animals on site.
- Must not block any carriageway on site with vehicles or structures.
- Must not deposit any refuse, discarded waste, household rubbish or decaying matter on site.
- Must not light fires during the summer months between 1 April - 30 September unless special authorisation has been granted by the Allotment Service Team.
- Must not enter the site after sunset.
- Must not consume alcohol on site or be on site under the influence of alcohol.
- Must not enter any other allotment garden other than that in which you are the tenant of unless given prior authorisation to do so.
MUST ASK
- Must obtain written authorisation prior to erecting any structure or fence on site.
- Must obtain written authorisation prior to planting any hedge or trees on site.
- Must obtain written authorisation prior to use any pesticides or herbicides on site.
- Must obtain written authorisation prior to the installation of any garden ponds, water wells or irrigation systems.
- Must obtain written authorisation prior to erecting any surveillance equipment e.g. CCTV or trail cameras.
- Must obtain written authorisation prior to use of any heavy plant machinery on site.
- Must obtain written authorisation to keep livestock, including Bees, Chickens, etc on site.
- Must obtain written authorisation prior to taking or bringing any mineral, gravel, sand, earth or clay to or from the site.
- Must obtain written authorisation to erect any notice and or advertisement on the Site.
- Must obtain written authorisation prior to using hosepipe attachments on city council water points.
