Sheds, Buildings and Other Structures
a) No building, wall or structure shall be constructed on the allotment garden by the tenant without prior permission of the council.
b) All sheds, greenhouses, polytunnels, portaloos, fences erected on the allotment garden, therein after referred to as structures, must have prior authorisation and comply with the council specifications and conditions.
c) Subject to 11.b should any agreed structure require planning permission then notice shall be given to the council in its capacity of landlord and as local a Planning Authority.
d) No more than 25% of the allotment garden should be assigned for structures.
e) All structures erected on the allotment garden must be maintained in a good state of repair and condition to the satisfaction of the council. If the council is not satisfied with the state of repair it may order the tenant to remove, repair or alter the structure.
f) The maximum dimension of a shed is (2.5m x 2.0m) a greenhouse is (9m x 3m) a polytunnel is (7.5m x 3.0m) and a height of all structures shall not exceed (2.5m).
g) No structure can be erected without prior permission from the council and such structures must have guttering connected to a water container where possible (e.g. water butt, barrel etc).
h) Tenants may not plant hedges or erect fencing or other barriers on or around their allotment garden without permission from the council.
i) No fixed or temporary play equipment shall be installed anywhere on an allotment garden or on the ite.
j) From 1 July 2007 smoking is not permitted in any communal building on the site.
k) The sale of alcohol is not permitted in any council building unless it is licensed for such use and has prior authorisation from the council.
