Terms and Conditions

T&Cs

  1. This photography competition is organised by Stoke on Trent City Council and Staffordshire County Council 
  2. The competition open date is Monday 14 September 2026
  3. All competition entries must be received by Saturday 31 October 2026
  4. The photography competition is free to enter and there is no purchase necessary.
  5. Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Staffordshire Borough Council have the right to use any photograph submitted on displays
  6. Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Staffordshire County Council  will not accept:

(a) responsibility for entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or

(b) proof of transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the Photography Competition.

8. By submitting an entry, you are agreeing to the be bound by these terms and conditions.

9. Stoke on Trent City Council and Staffordshire County Council  reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.

Eligibility

The Photography Competition is open to any application including employees of Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Staffordshire County Council.

In entering the Photography Competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Staffordshire County Council reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the Photography Competition.

Technical Requirements

Entries should be no larger than 30MB, and should be submitted as a JPEG file with no watermarks, signatures or borders included.

Judging and Notification

The competition entries will be judged by a panel of judges based on 2 key criteria: they should be aesthetically pleasing and reflect the subject of celebrating places in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire, however, must be sympathetic to the purpose of the coroners building.

The winners will be notified by email or telephone (using details provided at entry)

The prizes are non-exchangeable and non-transferable. Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Staffordshire County Council reserve the right to replace the prizes with alternative prizes of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond Stoke-on-Trent City Council's control makes it necessary to do so.

The decision of Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Staffordshire County Council regarding any aspect of the Photography Competition is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

The winners' names will be published on our website and through a press release.
