Draft Stoke-on-Trent Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment

Stoke-on-Trent Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment

The Stoke-on-Trent Health and Wellbeing Board has published the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA), which aims to ensure all residents have good access to local pharmacy services.
The PNA reviews the current provision of pharmaceutical services across Stoke-on-Trent, assesses whether these meet the needs of the population, and identifies any potential gaps in service delivery.

The previous PNA was produced in 2022, and by law, all Health and Wellbeing Boards in England must publish a new PNA every three years.

This PNA will be used by NHS England to consider applications to open new pharmacies or commission additional services from existing ones. It will also support local commissioners in identifying and commissioning services from community pharmacies as appropriate.
