Getting help with your healthcare from the NHS

If you need help because of your health, the NHS might pay for all your care. This is called NHS Continuing Healthcare.

What is NHS Continuing Healthcare?

  • It is care that the NHS pays for.
  • You can get this care at home or in a care home.
  • You do not have to pay for it.

Who can get it?

  • You must need health care more than help with daily tasks.
  • A team of people will check what care you need.
  • This team may include someone from Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

Fast Track Help

If you are very ill and near the end of your life, you may get help quickly.
This is called the Fast Track system.
