Bulky waste bookings are unavailable

We're having problems with our bulky waste booking system right now and can't accept any new bookings. We're working to get this back up and running, thanks for your patience.

What support can I get for dementia?

If you're worried about your memory or daily tasks, talk to your GP. There's help available!

We're working hard with our partners to improve dementia support in our city. We've partnered with commissioning groups and health, voluntary and community sectors to create a Joint Dementia Strategy for better dementia care.

We have also been recognised as an active dementia friendly community with Marrow House providing excellent person-centred short term care for individuals with dementia.

Support at home

There are two ways to make daily living easier for someone with dementia:

Social care can also provide practical help after assessing needs. This could include professional carers visiting the home or providing equipment and modifications to promote safety and independent living for longer.

To discuss these options, contact the Social Care Contact Centre at 0800 561 0015.

Marrow House

In the city, we have a specialist centre called Marrow House. It offers:

  • memory services – assessments, diagnosis, treatment and follow up checks
  • mental health support – care management, treatment and review services for you.
  • reablement services - helping residents stay independent at home.

It is available to Stoke-on-Trent residents over 55 years old and they must have a formal or suspected dementia diagnosis.
