Tell us if someone in your household dies

If someone in your household has died you must first register the death with the registrars service.

The registrar will give you a unique reference number so you can use the Government’s Tell Us Once service. In some cases, the registrar may complete the Tell Us Once service with you.

The Tell Us Once service will notify us and your Council Tax bill may change because of the death. You should check the discounts and exemptions page and apply for any discounts you may be eligible for.
