What is adult education?
We offer learning opportunities for adults who live in Stoke-on-Trent and are aged 19 upwards.
Our courses and training opportunities help people to learn new skills, gain qualifications and prepare for employment.
Our main areas that we cover are:

Essential skills – Develop your English, maths and digital skills.

Employability and cocational training – Gain practical skills to help you find a job or retrain for a new role.

Study programmes – Explore career-focused programmes, including health and social care and employability.

Workforce and professional training – Train for specialist careers such as Teaching Assistant, Gym Instructor, and Education and Training courses.

Community and Family Learning – Learn new skills that encourage family learning and community involvement.

Health and Wellbeing – Improve your wellbeing through courses that support mental health etc.

Pre-Entry ESOL – Improve your English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
Enrolment
You will need to complete an enrolment form to complete any course or workshop with us.
You can complete your application for courses over the phone or face to face at the Learning and Skills Hub.
If you come into a centre to complete your enrolment, you will need to bring the following documentation with you:
- ID: Passport, driving licence, other form of photo ID
- If required, proof of benefit status
- If required (if you earn less than £28,000), proof of income - must be dated within the past 3 months
- Proof of settled status - if relevant
- Proof of British Citizenship - if relevant
- Proof of visa status - if relevant
