We want everyone to feel welcome and supported in their learning. If you need changes to how lessons are taught or special resources, we’re here to help. Support can include:
- One-to-one help
- Study tips and coaching
- Help connecting with other services
We understand that people learn and think in different ways. This means that the support you need might be different too — and that’s okay.
In class, we can offer things like:
- Large print or digital materials
- Extra time for tasks or tests
- Quiet spaces or breaks
- Step-by-step instructions
- Technology to help with reading or writing
- Different ways to show what you know (like speaking or recording)
If you need help during exams (like extra time or a reader), we’ll need some proof. This could be a report from a doctor or specialist. It helps us make the right support plan for you.
Our Adult Community Learning team currently offer a 3-hour autism awareness workshop and have just developed a new 2-hour neurodiversity awareness workshop to help upskill and promote an understanding of neurodiversity in education and how important support is.
If you are interested in attending one of these sessions please call the team on: 01782 234775.
