  2. How do I find out if I am the grave owner?

We check graves to make sure the memorial on them is safe. If the memorial is unsafe, we contact the person responsible for the grave to tell them and we will make the memorial temporarily safe.

We will make the memorial permanently safe using methods approved by the National Association of Memorial Masons.

You don't need to do anything if we have made your memorial temporarily safe and there is no charge to you when we make them permanently safe. You can arrange to have the memorial made safe by an authorised memorial mason, but they will charge you for this work. Do not try to fix the memorial yourself. 

We know it can be upsetting to see a loved one's memorial laid down or temporarily fixed and will make the memorial safe as quickly as possible. Contact us if you would like to talk about your memorial's safety.
