Due to ongoing operational difficulties, the Registration Service is currently unable to meet our usual timescales for issuing copy certificates. This includes the issue of certificates after inquest and following declaration of a birth or death in another district. Please be assured that certificates will be produced as quickly as available resources allow.
Certificates are currently being issued within 25 working days.
Please only apply for certificates you require urgently, i.e. for legal purposes, proof of ID etc. Please note that the service to produce historic / family history certificates is currently unavailable, If you submit an application of this kind it will not be processed at this time. This will be regularly reviewed and the full service reinstated as soon as we are able.
Thank you for your patience.
The Register Office remains closed for walk-in applications.
You can apply online by clicking the link below or by calling 01782 235260 to order a copy certificate over the telephone.
