Hanley Public Space Protection Order
We are requesting the views of residents, businesses and customers of Hanley City Centre on the Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) currently in operation.
The order will carry forward the following prohibitions:
- No person within the restricted area shall have in their possession an open vessel containing alcohol other than in the grounds of a licensed premises or in accordance with an organised licensed event.
- Any person within the restricted area is prohibited from engaging in behaviour or using language likely to cause intimidation or distress to visitors, residents and businesses.
It is also proposed that there will be an additional area (Bucknall New Road and surrounding area) added into the PSPO.

Citywide Gating Public Space Protection Order
We are requesting the views of residents, businesses and customers who are affected by the current citywide gating Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) that is currently in operation.
This PSPO incorporates all of the locations subject to restrictions by gating across the city.
The current sealed order can be viewed here
Everyone affected will be written to and so will know that the gating scheme near to them is within the order, or its being proposed to add it.
