CON29 - the warning document
CON29 provides answers to more than 60 questions, known as ‘enquiries of the local authority’.
You can also request answers to any of the 18 additional questions on the CON29O or request other information known as ‘written additional’ questions.
They are specific questions which inform the prospective buyer of more detailed information only the local authority holds.
Only the CON29 and CON29O parts of the search tell a buyer:
- very recent statutory notices raised against a property that may later incur financial charges, such as if the council has had to remove rubbish and work has had to be carried out by the council in connection to dangerous structures
- all information regarding building regulations on a property, so if a property has had an extension this would reveal if it was built to the correct standards
- all road proposals and traffic schemes that affect the property, such as proposed parking restrictions or permanent stopping-up of a road or if any part of your land is to be acquired for approved road schemes
- if your property is included in an intended compulsory purchase area
- if your property is affected by contaminated land
