If you plan to sell or give away food, you must register with us 28 days before doing so.
We can’t refuse to register you, and there is no fee charged.
If you are holding a one-off event you might not need to register.
Registration is just a way of telling us that you prepare or handle food. There is no certificate involved.
Your details will be entered onto a register and onto our database. Part of the register is open to the public but not the personal details you provide.
You have a right to see and receive a copy of the register entry for your business.
Once you are registered your business will be allocated to an officer for inspection.
This may not be within your first few months of opening, so don't be concerned if you don't receive an inspection straight away.
