If your vehicle MOT expires after 30th March 2020, then your MOT will automatically be extended by 6 months and you will not currently require a MOT and Suitability test from Cromer Road. Due to the 6 month extension this means that the MOT testing station will have an increase in demand from August onwards, it is recommended that an appointment is made in advance to ensure that the vehicle is presented for an MOT before the extended expiry date.
You must complete a hackney carriage or private hire vehicle application form and submit it electronically with the following attached: a scan or readable picture of your insurance, log book and hire agreement if applicable to licensing with your contact number, we will then ring you to take payment. You will be issued with a 6 vehicle licence and plate and the fee is £121.00.
- If your MOT expires before 30th March 2020 or you failed your MOT test before this date, then you will still need to get your vehicle MOT tested, when the repairs to your vehicle have been completed and your vehicle is ready to present for a test please email email@example.com with your registration number and a contact number, someone will then contact you to take your payment (Please note that an appointment will only be allocated after payment has been taken).
Any vehicles that are over 7 years old and are not renewed on time will be permitted to be relicensed in the future, subject to passing the required tests, due to the current exceptional circumstances.
All motorists can use our independent MOT centre, on Cromer Road, Northwood.
We are able to conduct MOT tests for class four, class five and class seven vehicles.
