If your vehicle MOT expires between 31 March and 31 July 2020, then your MOT will automatically be extended by six months and you will not currently require a MOT and Suitability test from Cromer Road. Due to the six month extension this means that the MOT testing station will have an increase in demand from August onwards, it is recommended that an appointment is made in advance to ensure that the vehicle is presented for an MOT before the extended expiry date. Examples of MOT extensions are included in the table below...
|Original expiry date...||MOT valid until...|
|31 March 2020||30 September 2020|
|30 April 2020||30 October 2020|
|31 May 2020||30 November 2020|
|31 June 2020||31 December 2020|
|31 July 2020||31 January 2021|
You must complete a hackney carriage or private hire vehicle application form and submit it electronically with the following attached: a scan or readable picture of your insurance, log book and hire agreement if applicable to licensing with your contact number, we will then ring you to take payment. You will be issued with a six vehicle licence and plate and the fee is £121.00.
Any vehicles that are over 7 years old and are not renewed on time will be permitted to be relicensed in the future, subject to passing the required tests, due to the current exceptional circumstances.
