Scaffolding and hording licence

The construction of any structure over a public highway such as scaffolding or hoarding will require a licence from us beforehand.

Please note: An additional licence is needed if you plan to install a protective fan.

Applicable regulations

The regulations that apply to this licence are as follows:

  • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
  • Construction (Design and Management) Regulation 2007
  • Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.

Conditions of the licence

A licence may include standards on things such as lighting or painting the scaffold, or for a fan it may restrict the height at which it is set.
