From May 4 2023, voters in England will need to show photographic ID to vote at polling stations in some elections, including Stoke-on-Trent’s upcoming local elections on Thursday 4 May 2023.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council have created a Public Space Protection Order to incorporate all of the locations subject to restrictions by Gating across the city. The sealed Order is below along with a web accessible copy. The locations identified are listed in a separate document.

Longton Public Space Protection Order has been live since October 2016. In July 2019, the council conducted the three year review of the order which included a public consultation process.

A decision has now been made to vary and extend the order for a further three-year period. The order will run from October 3, 2019 until October 2, 2022. A copy of the order is attached for information.
