Changes to council’s cabinet announced

Changes have been announced to the make-up of Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s cabinet.

Councillor Majid Khan will now be Cabinet Member for Health Integration and Wellbeing and Councillor Duncan Walker is the new Cabinet Member for Safer and Resilient Communities.

Meanwhile, Councillor Lynn Watkins has changed her portfolio to become the new Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and All Age Commissioning.

Councillor Jane Ashworth, leader of Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: “This cabinet continues to provide us with the resilience needed to overcome the challenges we face as well as capitalise on the successes we enjoy as a city.

“We will continue to work hard for the good of the city and its residents, and support our businesses and economy to thrive.”

The confirmed new cabinet line-up in full is:

  • Councillor Jane Ashworth - Leader of the Council – Cabinet Member for Strategy, Economic Development, Culture and Sport   
  • Councillor Amjid Wazir - Deputy Leader of the Council Cabinet Member for City Pride and Enforcement.
  • Councillor Sarah Hill - Cabinet Member for Finance, Anti Poverty and Corporate Services 
  • Councillor Majid Khan - Cabinet Member for Health Integration and Wellbeing
  • Councillor Chris Robinson - Cabinet Member for Housing, Planning, Improvement and Governance
  • Councillor Duncan Walker - Cabinet Member for Safer and Resilient Communities
  • Councillor Lynn Watkins - Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and All Age Commissioning
  • Councillor Sarah Jane Colclough - Cabinet Member for Children's Services
  • Councillor Finlay Gordon-McCusker - Cabinet Member for Transport, Infrastructure and Regeneration
