STATEMENT
Press Statement:
Yesterday, Tuesday 21 March, two of our bin crews were assaulted while doing their jobs, delivering important public services for residents of Stoke-on-Trent.
It is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
Our thoughts are with those who were injured and their loved ones, and we would like to praise and thank our crews for doing their jobs and supporting our city.
We are supporting the ongoing police investigation.
Our crews will continue to do their jobs today.
Residents whose collections were impacted will have their bins collected in due course.
Our teams work tirelessly to provide a public service and should not have their safety put at risk.
We thank the emergency services for their prompt response and continue to assist in the inquiry in whatever way we can.
