Stoke-on-Trent City Council has appointed a new permanent director of Adult Social Care Health Integration and Wellbeing services, as positive progress continues to be made for adult social care in Stoke-on-Trent.

Peter has been Assistant Director for Adult Social Care since November 2018. Peter not only has over 32 years’ experience in social care, but is also a qualified Social Worker of 26 years. His in-depth knowledge and his strategic and operational expertise gained through working at all levels in both adults’ and children’s services, as well as health care, makes him ideally placed to take on this crucial role which he will commence from 1 October.

Councillor Abi Brown, leader of Stoke-on-Trent City Council said: “We had an excellent mix of candidates apply for the role – people want to be part of shaping Stoke’s future. We are delighted that Peter has accepted the permanent position. Peter is truly passionate about serving the residents of Stoke-on-Trent with his commitment rooted in a belief that people thrive in inclusive communities.”

On learning of his appointment, Peter said; ‘I am both excited and humbled to be offered the role of Director. It is a privilege to lead such a great set of services and people and to work in such a great city”.
