Stoke-on-Trent city council urges more people to come forward as foster carers to provide a loving home for local children this Christmas
In Stoke-on-Trent, there are now more than 990 children in care, the most Stoke-on-Trent has ever seen. The city council are currently working with around 300 fostering households, but many more are needed.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council has been awarded Foster Friendly status, the Fostering Network's programme to encourage employers to support fostering, and in particular, foster carers.
Services to support people to foster have adapted so that they can continue to recruit vital foster carers through the coronavirus outbreak.
