Weights and Measures fees and charges
Service Charge

Testing or adjusting weights:

Testing, verification, quality assurance testing, or adjustment of weights and measures, including certification to M1 tolerance or below.

Equipment used solely for testing motorcycle brakes, tested at 100 lb, 200 lb and 300 lb (or metric equivalent), including issue of certificate.

Charged at an hourly rate of £75.50 plus VAT per Weights and Measures Inspector and £45.50 plus VAT per support officer.

Hire of weights - Up to and including 1,000 kg (per day or part thereof)

£53.50 plus VAT

 

Hire of weights  - Over 1,000 kg (per day or part thereof) £75.50 plus VAT
Issue of a certificate: £64.50 plus VAT
Additional certificates £64.50 plus VAT

General notes on Weights and Measures charges

  • An additional fee of £117.00 per hour will be charged for weights returned in a dirty condition.
  • In exceptional circumstances, a special rate may be arranged by agreement.
  • Where work is requested outside normal office hours, fees or charges will be increased by 50%.
  • Any additional verification work not covered above will be charged at the stated hourly rates.
  • Charges are based on the rate per hour taken, or part thereof, including preparation, handling, testing of equipment, and production of the required certificate.
  • A charge of £75.50 plus VAT per hour is payable for the agreed collection and delivery of calibration items, with a minimum charge of £51.50 plus VAT.
