Home teaching
There is home-based teaching available for children aged nought to five who have additional needs. This is called Portage and is different from home-schooling.
Our Portage home visitors all know how to understand a child's individual needs.
We work with your child and family regularly in your home, from when your child is a few weeks old until they move into an early years setting or school
We find out everything your child can do across all areas of development and decide on some long-term teaching targets with you, breaking the targets down into small steps and providing the activities to reach these targets. Each session can last up to an hour and is full of stimulating and interesting activities to help the child to develop. Parents or carers join in.
We work with other professionals who are involved with the child and family.
We accept referrals from parents and professionals.
