Families of children with disabilities can apply for respite care - from just a few hours to whole weekend breaks or regular breaks.
The respite care is provided by council-approved foster carers.
We assess whether the service will be useful to you or your child and the service is free to children with disabilities and their families and carers.
Benefits to your child can include:
- making new friends
- trying new things and developing new interests and hobbies
- gaining independence by having the chance to stay away from home sometimes
