Appeal against a school admission decision

If you have been refused a place at your preferred school in Stoke-on-Trent and you are unhappy with the place you have been offered, you can make an appeal against this decision to an independent appeals panel. The decision of the panel is final.

If you wish to appeal a decision about places an a voluntary aided schools or any of the schools listed below, contact the school directly:

There is no right of appeal for admission to a maintained nursery.

Download, complete and return the appeal form to the clerk to the education appeals panel. Contact details are given at the bottom of this page. You can only appeal if you have been refused a place at that school. Contact the admissions team (details below) if you want to change any of your preferences.

If you are appealing because you have been refused a school place due to infant class size legislation (classes in reception, year one and year two cannot have more than 30 pupils), download and complete the infant class size appeal form.
