Elections

There will be no local elections in Stoke-on-Trent in May 2026.

2026 is a fallow year for Stoke-on-Trent City Council, which means there are no scheduled elections taking place on 7 May 2026. As a result, you will not receive a poll card or any postal or proxy voting documents (if you have previously applied) in the coming weeks.

This is part of the normal local election cycle. Elections for all 44 city councillors are held every four years.

The next scheduled local elections in Stoke-on-Trent will take place in May 2027.

You may see information online or in the media about elections in neighbouring areas and wonder why there are no elections here. This is completely normal, as different councils hold elections in different years.
