InformationThe City Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced provider to support a Residential Child Care Team in working with children or young people at risk of self-harm and/or taking their own life. In particular the learning programme offered should cover the following: - Identification of potential behaviours that may lead to self-harm and suicide (specifically by affixation) - Identify environmental hazards that pose a potential hazard to a person who is experiencing suicidal thoughts. By the end of the programme delegates should be able to: - Appropriately assess risk levels of self-harm and suicide (specifically affixation) - Provide appropriate responses to disclosures of suicidal thoughts. - Provide appropriate responses to emergency situations where a person has acted in a way to cause themselves serious harm (specifically around affixation) - Adaptations to first aid in response to affixation - Use of appropriate equipment to remove ligatures - Managing impact of attempted/suicide on ourselves - Record keeping
