InformationThe City Council is seeking to procure a competent contractor to carry out the remediation of an existing toilet block site. The works comprise asbestos removal, deconstruction, demolition and associated groundworks. Contractors wishing to provide a quotation for this work must submit an expression of interest by email only to mark.wootton@stoke.gov.uk. Contractors will be required to satisfy the following criteria. Information relating to the criteria does NOT have to be submitted with the expression of interest but will be required from the successful contractor prior to contract award. Failure to provide satisfactory information will result in disqualification. 1. All operatives to have asbestos awareness training and CSCS certificates. 2. The site manager shall have minimum training to SMSTS (5 day), CCDO Gold card or equivalent. 3. All demolition operatives are to have CCDO certificates relevant to their role. 4. All plant operatives are to have appropriate CPCS certificates for the plant they will be operating. 5. The demolition element of the works shall be carried out by a demolition contractor with corporate NFDC and CHAS accreditations, or by a contractor able to provide documentation to support an equivalent standard. A set of questions required to be completed by demolition contractors who do not have both NFDC and CHAS accreditations will be issued with the tender information. Failure to provide evidence to satisfy the equivalency will result in disqualification. 6. Insurance levels; £5 million Employers Liability Insurance, £5 million Public and Product Liability Insurance. 7. The successful contractor will be the Principal Contractor in accordance with the CDM regulations 2015 and will be expected to provide a suitable Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan, including risk assessments and method statements for all site activities, all information required for the Health & Safety file and to liaise with the Principal Designer. 8. Tendering contractors will be required to attend a site visit during the tender period. Failure to attend will result in disqualification. 9. Tendering contractors will be required to submit case studies to evidence that they have previously undertaken works of this nature. Following the close of this advert, tender documents will be issued week commencing 31st May 2016.
