Report a Noise Problem (Page 1 of 3)

Before logging a noise complaint you should think about speaking to the person causing the problem. The person might not be aware that there is a problem and picking a good moment to calmly bring this to their attention could help you to solve the problem.

Do not speak to anyone involved if you are feeling threatened or doing so would put you in danger. If the person is being unreasonable or aggressive then you should always leave the conversation.

What behaviour are you reporting? Required

This form is for reporting antisocial behaviour, such as:

physical and verbal abuse or threats
alcohol-related nuisance
vandalism, graffiti and damage to property
prostitution
nuisance neighbours

Some nuisance behaviour is a crime, not antisocial behaviour. Crimes should be reported to the police.

Only the police are able to deal with issues such as: assault, criminal damage, including vandalism, drug use, drug dealing, and hate crimes.

Call 999 if you or someone else is in immediate danger, or if a crime is in progress. If it is not an emergency, call 101 to report the incident to the police or contact Crimestoppers to give information about crime anonymously on 0800 555 111 or make a report via their online form.

We are unable to take action in cases where annoyance is cause by reasonable behaviour (such as young children playing a ball game or doors being slammed by a neighbour when there was no malicious intent to target you with this behaviour).

If the behaviour is reasonable and untargeted you might consider calmly talking to the people involved in the first instance to see if a resolution can be found, as we are unlikely to be able to take further action where this does not constitute antisocial behaviour.

A hate crime is committed against someone because of their disability, gender-identity, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation. You can report hate crime to Staffordshire Police on 101 or contact Challenge North Staffs (The Hate Crime Network) on 0330 1111 999 or by text on 07537 414477.
