The Kings Hall is set to host a free day of sustainability-focused activities as a major climate festival comes to the city this spring.
The Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent Celebration of the Possible (COP) Festival 2026 will take place on Thursday 12 March, bringing together residents, organisations and businesses from across the region.
This year’s festival is being sponsored by Stoke-on-Trent City Council, which is supporting the event by providing the venue free of charge.
The event - held at Kings Hall, Stoke - will run from 10am to 3pm and is organised by the Globe Foundation as one of the key dates in the county’s sustainability calendar.
The COP Festival will offer an opportunity for attendees to explore practical solutions and local initiatives that support a greener future.
The programme includes interactive stands, activities and demonstrations from organisations working across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, alongside opportunities for people to connect and share ideas.
Councillor Jane Ashworth, leader of Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: “The Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent COP Festival is a fantastic opportunity to bring people together and highlight the great work already taking place across our region to tackle climate change.
“By working with partners and communities, we can share ideas, showcase local solutions, and inspire real action that will make a difference for future generations.
“We’re already taking action, including promoting sustainable travel through our bus service improvement programme, electric vehicle infrastructure roll out, public realm schemes, and schools initiatives to promote active travel across generations, bus service initiatives to make public transport more attractive and protecting the habitat of a rare butterfly and our support for tree planting.
“I would encourage everyone with an interest in sustainability and the environment to come along and be part of the conversation.”
Garry Jones, Chair of Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent Celebration of Possible Steering Committee, said: "We are delighted to hold our 3rd annual Celebration of the Possible at the Kings Hall in Stoke-on-Trent.
“This historic building at the heart of the Stoke community is a great venue to bring together amazing local volunteers, community groups, charities and our partners to celebrate all that is good in our city and the wider county.
“We're grateful to Stoke-on-Trent City Council for supporting the Festival through in-kind sponsorship of the King's Hall. Their backing helps keep the event free and accessible for all."
