A brand-new Family Hub is set to open in Blurton this summer, creating a welcoming space where local families can access support, advice and activities – all under one roof.
The Blurton Family Hub – which opens on Thursday 28 August – will form part of Stoke-on-Trent’s growing network of Family Hubs. It reflects the city’s commitment to building healthier, safer and better-connected communities.
The hub will be part of a shared community space bringing together the Health centre, The Hive and other local services in one welcoming place. It will also act as a one-stop-shop for information and guidance for families with children from conception to 19. Support extends up to 25 years for those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
By working together with other sites and organisations in the area, the new hub aims to make it easier for families to get the help they need, when they need it.
Councillor Sarah Jane Colclough, cabinet member for children’s services at Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: “Blurton Family Hub will be a fantastic addition to our city’s support network. It’s about creating a network of places where families feel welcome, connected and supported. This hub will make a real difference for local families and be a real asset to the Blurton community.”
Families are invited to celebrate the opening of the new Family Hub on Thursday 28 August between 10am and 2pm. The event will feature family-friendly activities, refreshments and a chance to meet the team and explore the new space.
The four main Family Hubs are currently open in Bentilee, Normacot, Chell Heath and Shelton with a satellite site in Tunstall. Services are also currently running from Hanley Market and Stoke Library.
