The Victorian Market at the heart of Longton Town Centre, celebrates a mammoth 160 years of trading this week.

Very much at the heart of the community, Longton Market has been providing residents and visitors with independent traders selling food, and products for people, homes, and pets.

Longton Market currently boasts 35 independent traders.

The market has maintained a lot of its original features, including the bell which used to ring at 9am every day to advise trading had started, the bell is still in use during special occasions.

Residents are invited to visit the market on Friday 5 May, where they will be greeted by traders in their best Victorian outfits, along with the market decorated ahead of the Coronation weekend.  

On Saturday 6 May, where visitors have the opportunity to win a hamper packed full of goodies, supplied by the traders.

Longton Market is open every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday between 9am and 5pm.
