Neighbourhood planning

Neighbourhood plans can help to decide future development in an area by identifying the best locations for future housing, employment, commercial and community uses.

The plan must meet local and national planning policies.

Communities can produce a neighbourhood plan for their local area, but they must form a neighbourhood forum first. A neighbourhood forum has to have a minimum of 21 people and meet certain other legal requirements.

How to set up a neighbourhood forum

Neighbourhood plans are led by the community but we will provide support to you while you prepare your plan. Contact us using the details below.

Draft neighbourhood plans have previously been prepared by neighbourhood forums in respect of Burslem, Middleport, Stoke, and Hanford and Trentham. These have not progressed and are now lapsed.
