See a Potters' mill which produced ground bone, flint and other materials to mix with clay for the manufacture of pottery operating as in Victorian times.

Believed to be the only remaining steam powered mill of its type it ran commercially from 1857 to 1972. The 1820s beam engine starts on the hour from 1300 to 1600. Guided tours available. Also, Saturday has a display of working vintage stationary engines and Sunday a classic vehicle rally on the museum field.

Mills of this type were essential to produce raw materials for the pottery industry that produced ware for the consumption of food. Also ground bone used by the agricultural industry as a fertilizer to increase yield.
