When you complete the optional follow-up form after using the BetterCare Support or BetterCare Support for Carers portals, we collect your contact details so we can get in touch later to ask about your experience. We only keep this data for the time specified in our retention schedule or as required by law.
What information we collect
- Name
- Contact details (email address and/or phone number)
Why we collect this information
We use this data to:
- Contact you by phone or email to ask if you used any of the services signposted in the portals
- Gather feedback on whether those services were helpful
- Use your feedback to improve the BetterCare Support portals and related services
Legal basis for processing
We process your data based on your consent, which you provide when completing the optional follow-up form. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us.
How long we keep your information
We will keep your information for six months after the follow-up contact is completed, unless required by law to retain it longer.
Who we share your information with
We do not share your information outside the council unless required by law. Internally, it may be shared with teams responsible for service improvement and evaluation.
Your rights
Under data protection law, you can:
- Ask to see the information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Withdraw consent and request deletion of your data
- Ask us to stop processing your data
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with how your data is handled
