The purposes for which the data will be used are to enable you to apply to volunteer, or to volunteer for Stoke-on-Trent libraries and archives. We are able to do this lawfully because it is in our legitimate interests to hold and use details of all our volunteers in order to support them and manage the projects they are volunteering for.
If you do not comply with our volunteer policies a record of this incident will be recorded and your personal information may be given to law enforcement authorities as part of a criminal investigation. We may also share this information with relevant organisations for purposes which may include enforcement.We may share data with our internal audit team to evaluate the effectiveness of the organisation’s risk management, control and governance processes. We may also share your data with the council's fraud team to help to prevent and detect fraud.
Data protection law provides you with certain rights, but not all of these rights will be available to you in all situations. Where we are under a legal duty to use data for a particular purpose you will not have the right to prevent it being used in that way.
