Fair processing notices - Community engagement team

How we use your data

When you use the community engagement team service we collect information about you such as your telephone number, email and postal addresses.

If you are part of a voluntary or community association, we may also collect information about your group.

We only keep this data for the time specified in our retention schedule or as required by law.

We use this data so that we are able to contact you via telephone, email or post so that we can liaise with you regarding civic or community matters and to promote funding and other opportunities to you.

Occasionally we will share your personal information with other parts of the council so that they can also contact you regarding civic or community matters and opportunities.

We will never share you information with organisations that are not part of the council.

We are able to do this because the Localism Act 2011 says that we can and it is in the public interest.

We may share data with our internal audit team to evaluate the effectiveness of the organisation’s risk management, control and governance processes.  We may also share your data with the council's fraud team to help to prevent and detect fraud.
