The Wallace Centre was opened in 2004 as a community sports provision. Since then the member base has grown and the facility now attracts guests from across the city.
The centre's core aims are to provide sporting and educational facilities to help raise the health and fitness levels in the local community.
In 2017 the Wallace Centre was refurbished to feature a large activity hall, fully equipped gym with separate functional fitness area, free weights room, dance/spin studio featuring state of the art lifecycle GX spin bikes, sauna and steam room and free car park facilities. The centre also now boasts an amazing programme of over 50 community, fitness and wellbeing classes catering to all ages from children to senior citizens.
Our activity hall is host to variety of sporting activities such as:
- Badminton
- Table tennis
- Trampolining
- Mini basketball
- Mini hockey
- Indoor bowls
- Birthday Parties (including a bouncy castle)
- Fitness classes
- participant sports
The centre is also home to many regular hirers and provides a safe, clean and fun environment for sports clubs, education and care providers to bring their service users to participate in a multitude of activities to improve their physical and mental health.
