Help us to celebrate Potto Lotto’s six-month anniversary and be in with the chance of winning a dazzling prize

Published: Friday, 23rd November 2018

To celebrate a successful six months since Potto Lotto was launched in May 2018, players of Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s online lottery will be in with the chance of winning tickets.

It's a chance of winning two tickets to a fascinating talk and festive mulled wine and mince pie reception at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery.

The city centre-based museum has kindly donation two tickets to their ‘Woman in Gold’ talk, to be held on Sunday 9th December. The talk is part of their History Wardrobe series and will explore the lure of gold in fashion and the hidden world of women in art, inspired by the glittering embellishments of artist Gustav Klimt. Historical seamstress, Meridith Towne, will also be showcasing her stunning examples of dress making.

Potto Lotto is a lottery scheme with a difference. It gives players the chance to win cash prizes up to £25,000 and extra tickets, while players can make a difference to local causes that are signed up. For each £1 ticket sold, 50p goes directly to a good cause signed up to scheme, chosen by the player.

Since the launch of the scheme, 59 local causes and charities in Stoke-on-Trent have signed up to the lottery and have benefitted from a massive £20,355 that has been raised so far.

There have also been three lucky players who have won £2,000 each, as well five players who have won £250. Many have won extra tickets and £25 prizes.

Councillor Anthony Munday, cabinet member for greener city, development and leisure said:

“I'm very pleased to see Potto Lotto making a real impact in the six months since it was launched. It’s so important that we can offer support to the many good causes across Stoke-on-Trent. Potto Lotto is a great way for us to do this, and gives the public the opportunity to win prizes as well!

"I'm confident Potto Lotto will continue to grow in the coming months. I look forward to seeing how much the initiative makes a difference to our local causes which make such a positive impact in their communities."

Potto Lotto draws take place every Saturday at 8pm and the two tickets for the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery talk ‘Woman in Gold’ can be won this Saturday 24th November 2018. For current supporters, any tickets purchased for that week’s draw will be entered and all tickets bought by new supporters purchased until 24th November until 8pm will be entered.
