Longton Market has teamed up with JobCentre Plus (Longton) to hold a job fair to help local people find their perfect job.
Hundreds of jobs will be up for grabs at the event on Friday, October 26, including full-time and seasonal positions. Specialist career experts from different organisations will be on hand to offer advice on job searches and applications and how to set up your own business.
With representatives attending from a wide range of fields including sales, administration, retail, cleaning, warehouse and call centres, there is sure to be something for everyone.
Councillor Daniel Jellyman, cabinet member for regeneration, transport and heritage said:
“It’s great that the job fair is being held in the bustling Longton Market. It really shows that our markets are an integral part of our town centres and can be used by traders and shoppers, and community event organisers.
“Our markets are home to enterprising traders so it’s great that people can come down here and take some inspiration from other traders, and also see the opportunities available in the market.”
Councillor Janine Bridges, cabinet member for education and economy said:
“With Christmas just around the corner, now is a great time for people to look for jobs, whether that’s for some extra spending money or a new career path.
“It’s great to see that so many organisations from across the city will be taking part and offering opportunities and advice at the event.
“We are committed to supporting our residents, and this event will provide some fantastic job opportunities.”
The fair will be held from 10am-1pm on Friday, October 26 at Longton Market, ST3 1BZ. The market will be open as usual on the day from 9am to 5pm.
