Cultural and Events Projects Grants worth £250,000 will support local organisations cultural activities

Stoke-on-Trent City Council has launched two different types of cultural and events project grants, which local organisations can apply for to support their cultural activity.

Culture and Events Project Grants

The Culture and Events Project Grants will enable organisations in the sector to deliver a diverse range of cultural activities that will enable more Stoke-on-Trent residents and visitors to participate in the cultural verve of Stoke-on-Trent.

This fund will make £75,000 available in 2022/2023, with grants available to eligible cultural activities. Funding awards are not guaranteed and will be assessed through a robust application process after which successfully applicants will receive some or all of the amount bid for.

Culture and Events Project Grants are for cultural organisations seeking a grant up to £10,000 to fund a cultural event or activity.

Applications need to be submitted by 1 September, with an assessment panel looking at applications later that month and informing successful applicants in due course.

Projects will need to be delivered between October 2022 and March 2023, to fit the eligibility criteria.

Cultural Anchor Grants

The second pot of funding is the Cultural Anchor Grants which total £175,000, which is available in 2023/24 for eligible cultural organisations.

Funding awards are not guaranteed and will be assessed through a robust application process after which successful applicants will receive some or all of the amount bid for.

Anchor Grants are for cultural organisations seeking larger funds up to £25,000 to support a wider, more in-depth annual programme of cultural activity to engage Stoke-on-Trent residents and visitors.

Applications will need to be submitted by Friday 7 October 2022, with an assessment panel set to judge them on week commencing 31 October.

Applicants will be notified the following week, with projects set to be delivered by April 2024.
