Self-Isolation exemption for care home providers

Care home providers are entitled to request authorisation for coronavirus self-isolation exemption for their staff. Any decision to grant authorisation is subject to a risk assessment by an individual(s) nominated by the organisation’s management and formal support and endorsement by the Director of Public Health. No member of staff in any provider setting should stop self-isolating until they have written authority from the Director of Public Health for Stoke-on-Trent.

Providers can request a form from the authority, and a decision will be based on the information submitted.

Accountability for provision of accurate information and effective implementation of any approval sits with the employer.  Providers must make sure they are fully aware and acting in accordance with the relevant Government Guidance.
