Offering short-term respite care to children with disabilities

You can apply to provide short-term care for children with disabilities. Anyone can apply to do this and potential carers will be assessed by us and receive training and support.

You will be paid an allowance by us each time you look after a child. This allowance varies depending on how long their stay is.

Benefits include:

  • developing a relationship with the child you provide care for
  • knowing you are helping a child and making a difference
  • supporting and getting to know a child's family
