Reviving Communities Scheme
The city council has approved a £1.5 million programme to bring up to 25 empty homes back into use in the Portland Street and other areas of the city. This is called the Reviving Communities Scheme and will run along similar lines to the scheme that became widely referred to as the £1 home scheme.
The purpose is to regenerate areas of the city that have clusters of empty homes. The programme aims to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of residents living within these areas.
