Consultation on extending Longton Public Space Protection Order

A three-year Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) in Longton was approved in September 2016 and started in October 2016.

By law, the maximum time a PSPO can be in place for is three years, before it must be formally reviewed.

We must now review the PSPO before it is due to expire in October.

There are no restrictions on the number of times the PSPO can be reviewed and re-implemented.

The PSPO contains measures to:

  • control the use of alcohol
  • tackle behaviour or the use oflanguage likely to cause intimidation or distress

See the existing order

We want the views of the general public and other interested groups on whether the measures contained in the PSPO are still supported and should continue.

The consultation has been extended and now closes on Sunday, August 11
