The audit is required to identify barriers to disabled access and to set out options for removing these barriers. Upon completion of the audit we require clear recommendations detailing of any reasonable adjustments that are required to complete to ensure we comply with the Equality Act (2010). As a minimum we would be looking for the successful bidders to undertake the following as part of the audit: • Approach and car parking access • External level changes • Building entrances/exits • Communication • Corridors • Movement across all floors and levels • Emergency escape routes for disabled people • Fixtures and fittings • Internal doors • Lifts and staircases • Receptions • Signage • Toilets • Workstation The above specification points are not an exhaustive list. The successful provider may therefore be required to adhere to additional requirements or may wish to suggest additional activity that would benefit the project. Such requirements will be agreed between the successful provider and Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
