InformationThis training will need to cover: Understand the role of an expert witness. Understand the difference between Fact, Opinion and Hearsay, Understand the Public Law Outline Process. To understand what the Welfare Checklist document Understand how our legal team will support you before and at court The need to work in partnership with parents Understand how to prepare succinct and robust evidence for court including the voice of the child and clear analysis When and how to use expert research and theories. How to strengthen professional opinion and owning your recommendations and social work view. Understand the importance of your evidence in court. Ability to summarise the nature and purpose of different types of courts, court hearings. Guidance for our practitioners when at Court:- Ability to understand the different kind of courts, court hearings and the orders which can result in Children Act proceedings Understand how awareness of the principles of the Children Act can assist our practitioners in both private and public law court proceedings Practical understanding of what is expected of the social worker and how to prepare for court proceedings whether face to face, hybrid or remote hearings Understand the court process and have a working knowledge of the Public Law Outline, the pre-proceedings process and how to achieve the 26-week time scale Understand Court etiquette and the different roles and responsibilities of the key players in court proceedings Understand how to communicate and with who in court, including solicitors and Judges in court
