More services reopening from May 17

From Monday, May 17, more of our sports and leisure services will have reopened in line with the Government’s road map to ease coronavirus restrictions. At Fenton Manor, this includes:

  • Exercise and fitness classes - a limited programme will return at Shapes for pre-booking. See information below.
  • The health spa will reopen.
  • The café will reopen for takeaway and table service.

Leisure centre membership

OFFER for new members - sign up now, get your first month free!

You can choose global membership, which covers gyms and classes at Shapes at Fenton Manor, Dimensions and The Wallace – plus the pool at Fenton Manor and New Horizons, the health spa at Fenton Manor and the sauna and steam room at The Wallace. It also covers indoor racquet sports at Fenton Manor and The Wallace, and free parking at our sites that charge for parking. Or you can sign up to an individual centre.

For current members, you received global membership for free in April and at £10 for May. And following a review of prices, we're giving all members global membership in June for just £15. Membership prices will be reviewed in June and are currently expected to return to normal from July, subject to the next stage of the government’s road map to ease coronavirus restrictions being approved.

You can sign up for membership here. For more information on membership, click here.

You can also get information, sign up and pre-book sessions by using the Active Stoke app (stoke.gov.uk/activestokeapp), the online portal, or by calling your chosen centre (Shapes: 01782 233222, Dimensions: 233500, The Wallace: 233555, New Horizons: 235037).

A very limited number of gym showers and changing room facilities will be available due to social distancing and we encourage customers to come dressed for your activity and to shower at home.

Exercise classes

From 17 May, we will reintroduce exercise and fitness classes, with a limited programme returning at Shapes.

Exercise classes will be available to book via the Active Stoke app (stoke.gov.uk/activestokeapp), online portal, or by calling 01782 233222.

Swimming lessons

Swimming lessons are booked in 10-week blocks and cost just £55 (full payment made upon booking). Lessons are 30 minutes each week - they're great value for money, teach youngsters skills that can help to save lives and they’re really fun. Spaces are limited - more information is available here or by calling 01782 233222.

Indoor sports

Indoor sports activities will all reopen by May 17. For more information, contact your chosen centre.

Outdoor pitches

Outdoor sports pitches have reopened. For more information, contact dimensions@stoke.gov.uk or energise@stoke.gov.uk

Covid-secure measures

To ensure the activities are covid-secure, the council’s teams have followed guidance from the Government, Public Health England and national governing bodies for sport and leisure.

Safety measures include signage and one-way systems, individual cleaning equipment for each member to collect at reception, hand sanitising stations, extra cleaning by leisure centre teams between sessions, and socially-distanced equipment in the gyms.

Visitors must:

  • Pre-book sessions via the ActiveStoke app, stoke.gov.uk/leisure or by calling a centre.
  • Not have any Covid-19 symptoms in the past 14 days;
  • Arrive on time - no more than five minutes early;
  • Follow queues, one-way routes and social distancing;
  • Sign in with a membership card and support track and trace information;
  • Sanitise their hands on arrival and before/after activities;
  • Wipe down and sanitise equipment or items used.

Members must give two hours’ notice if they cannot attend a pre-booked session.

Leisure centre parking permits that lapsed during the temporary closure can be extended on request.

Customers also have the option to freeze their membership for a further three months if required.
