Free monthly meeting for retired members of the pottery industry. Fun and friendly. Different theme each month. Free refreshments.
Retired workers from the pottery industry are invited to share memories, skills and conversation at a new local history event in the heart of the world's ceramic industry.
Starting on Friday, June 16, the monthly meet-and-greet session will be a celebration of those who helped to design, shape and mould ceramics in the Potteries.
Each month, the meetings will have a different theme, including the Potters’ Holidays, Potters At Work and Famous Folk Of Stoke.
It is a fantastic opportunity for retired pottery workers or associated industries to come and find out about local history, make new friends and reconnect with old ones over free tea, coffee and cake.
The sessions will take place at Spode Museum Trust Heritage Centre on the third Friday of every month starting on Friday, June 16, at 11am.
Sessions will be led by Kath Reynolds, an experienced reminiscence facilitator.
Paul Wood, ex-managing director of Spode said: “We are delighted to welcome former pottery workers to come together to talk about their time working at Spode or across the pottery industry.”
